Noko Kenoko Hermiaji (Mr. Noko) — Noko first started to learn Capoeira in the year of 2000 in Yogyakarta, Java, which he was one of the founding members for the widespread group Capoeira Brincadeira (now group Senzala Indonesia), when he was studying at Gadjah Mada University.  The beauty of the movements he saw from a Hollywood action movie “Only the Strong” inspired Noko to train right away when he found the Capoeira community in Yogyakarta. This group was the first Capoeira community in Indonesia that now its members spread all over the country making the map of Capoeira expanding larger.  Since then Noko keeps focusing on training and promoting capoeira around Java. By the year of 2006 he moved to Bali, together with Medusa (Mr. Rod Penn), they started the first established Capoeira school  in Bali named Senzala Bali, which is also the first Senzala to be established in Indonesia. In December 2007, they organized the first International Capoeira event in Bali, Primeiro Batizado Grupo Senzala with special guests: Mestre Gato (group Senzala, Rio de Janeiro) and Mestre Ousado (group Argola de Ouro, Singapore), and some other respective guest teachers. In September 2008, he went to Brazil to experience the root of Capoeira by invitation and sponsorship of Mestre Caca from Escola Cultural Zungu Capoeira, São Paulo that he represented  in Bali until now. Then in 2009 he came back to Brazil and joined the workshop that was led by Mestre João de Grande, a great grand master of Capoeira Angola that is well known and respected by the whole Capoeira community. In 2011 Noko had a chance to travel further and explore Brazil and its culture even more. Since going to Brazil Noko has been invited to participate in many events and to give training and workshops around Asia. Together with his team at Capoeira Bali he wishes to continue to legitimately promote the art of Capoeira in Bali.
SupermanChairil Anwar (Mr. Superman) — Before 2006, there was no legitimate Capoeira group in Bali, even though the Capoeira community itself already existed since 2004 by some youth that practiced on their own in Renon, Denpasar. Chairil was one of the first Capoeiristas (Capoeira practitioner) from Bali and always has been an active member from the beginning. His dedication to the training since he started made him a skilful practitioner in a quite short time. When Rod and Noko started the Capoeira school in late 2006, Chairil joined the group not long after, developing his knowledge of the art even more. Chairil, known as Superman among the students, is not only talented with the movements, he enjoys to provide good energy for everyone to practice through his good musicality and singing. Chairil’s natural way of interacting with the kids, made him loved by the children with his playful way of giving the classes.
DedenMujahidin Ahmad (Mr. Deden) — Deden started to practice Capoeira around 2010 in Mataram, the capital of Nusa Tenggara Barat, Lombok island.  He actually wanted to learn some acrobatics movements only, but then he never stopped Capoeira since he first started and embraced the art fully.  He was the youngest member among other pioneers of Capoeira in Mataram, Lombok, yet the most active one to take care of classes and training there before he eventually moved to Bali. In 2017 Deden moved to Bali by Noko’s invitation to join the Capoeira Bali team, promoting and teaching Capoeira art for children and adults. Recently Deden was promoted to a “graduado” level in Capoeira by Mestre Caca from Escola Cultural Zungu Capoeira, Brazil.  It takes a long time and dedication for a Capoeira practitioner to reach this level and get the promotion and recognition for it, but Deden clearly deserved it.
